Deanna Adams Blackwelder, 76 years of age, of Concord, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

"Dee" as she was called, was born May 9, 1939 in South Dakota on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation, to the late Chancey "Bill" Adams and Verna Tripp Adams. Dee served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1959 and traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States. She settled in Texas where she met her husband William "Bill" Blackwelder. They were married from 1985 until his death in 2001. She loved music, reading, good food and her cat "Josie".

Survivors include her sisters, Delores Linderman and Diana Tople of Texas, and Dora Goddard of Nevada; nine nieces and nephews; two sisters in law, Lois Sheffield and Mildred Collins; as well as many other extended family and friends.

There will be a memorial service with military honors on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord at 11:00AM, officiated by Rev. Steve Combs.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County.
