Beloved son of Carlos and Lydia Abeyta, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on the evening of February 25, 2007. Norman's strength, courage and indomitable spirit served as inspiration to all. Norman survived a car accident at the age of 18 which left him paralyzed and wheelchair bound. Over the next 34 years, Norman lived a life that epitomized the best in all of us - selfless acts, political and social activities and a warm and gentle spirit in spite of his own personal challenges. Norman is survived by his parents; two brothers, Alan (Kim) Abeyta, Marvin (Kathy) Abeyta; two sisters Denise (Henry) Perea and Sandy (Johnny) Ornelas; six nephews and five nieces. Norman will be greatly missed by his loving family and numerous friends. We have all been blessed and touched by his courageous life. A memorial mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2007, at Saint Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa, Colorado Springs, CO, 80903.

June 11, 1955 - February 25, 2007. Happy Birthday Norman! We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, For part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again. We love and miss you, Dad, Mom and Family
