Mr. Charlie Wayne Free age 78 of Everett Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 11, 2017 in the Gilmer Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Free was born on Jan. 29, 1939 in Fannin County, the son of the late Homer Free and the late Mary Bearden Free. He was a lifelong resident of Union County. Charlie enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Free and two sisters, Eunice Weaver and Bonnie Aaron. Mr. Free was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
