Mrs Jesse Allen DeBerry, wife of Mr W L DeBerry, died at the home of her brother-in-law, Mr James E DeBerry, in Rosemary Sunday afternoon after an illness of a few hours. Her death came as a distance shock to her relatives and friends. She is survived by a devoted husband who is a patient in the Roanoke Rapids Hospital, and a son, one year old, and a number of close relatives, the majority of whom had gathered at the home of her mother, Mrs Eldridge Allen, at Seaboard, for a family reunion. Mrs DeBerry had planned to attend the reunion the day of her death. The funeral services were held in her mother's home Monday afternoon. A large delegation of the Weldon Lodge Knights of Pythias, of which her husband is a member, attended the service. The following Pythians were active pallbearers: Messrs. W A Carter, A C Sledge, T A Chappell, P H Joyner, M Josephson and G W Cargile.
Mrs DeBerry was twenty-seven years of age. She has been a resident of Rosemary for several years and was well known to a large circle of friends.
