She was preceded in death by her husband Woods E. Russum; daughters, Janell L. Russum Cupstid and her husband, Buddy Cupstid and Judy D. Russum Dunlap; one great granddaughter, and one great-great granddaughter.
She is survived by her sons, William G. Russum of Pearl MS and Ronnie W. Russum (Kay) of Pelahatchie, MS; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Dorothy Nell loved the Lord, her family, and her church, First Baptist of Pearl, MS. She taught girls the love of Jesus through her leadership in the Girls in Action (GA's). Her Christian witness and leadership resulted in many of her G.A's ministering in Christian vocations. She made many longstanding dear and close friendships there. After raising her children she went to college to become a dietitian. She worked for many years in the Rankin County School (Pearl) cafeterias and then at Rankin General Hospital now known as Merit Hospital Crossgates.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. To God be the Glory for blessing us with such a wonderful, faithful, and Godly mother. All remembrances may be given to FBC Pearl.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 12pm - 2pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
