Born March 23, 1926 in Rochester, NH, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Mattie E. (Randall) Hanscom.
A homemaker and mother, Barbara had resided in Rochester all of her life. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
The widow of the late George W. Abbott, who died in 1996, she is survived by six children: Betty Reid of Rochester, Sandra Sexton of Dover, Terri L. Woods of Epping, George W. Abbott, Jr. of Farmington, Ricky Abbott of Wells, Maine and Cynthia M. Abbott of Rochester, 16 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, 1 sister: Virginia Gilman of Farmington, also several Nieces and Nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday Nov 25, 2003 at Peaslee Funeral Home 32 Central St. Farmington, NH at 1pm. The calling hour is prior to the service from 11am-1pm. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
