ROY, UTAH - Golden Virgil Adams, 77, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, died December 14, 1997, at Adams family barn bunk house, in East Garland, following a six month illness. He was born October 24, 1920, in East Garland, the son of William Albert and Virginia Brann Adams. After his graduation from Bear River High School, he continued working on the family farm in East Garland until he entered the U.S. Army-Air Force in December 1942.

He married Ruth Lenore Thiessens in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, June 24, 1943. He continued to serve in the military until December 1945, when he was honorably discharged after being stationed in Europe during WW II. He and Ruth returned to East Garland to resume farming and raise a family of seven children. In addition to farming Golden worked for Thiokol Chemical Corporation, then later worked and retired from Civil Service at Hill Air Force Base. He and Ruth divorced in 1972.

The Adams family barn in East Garland was the setting of his marriage to Loween Parke on March 31, 1990. They made their home in Roy. Golden was an elder and a member of the LDS Royal Green Ward. He was well known for his sense of humor, his kindness and outgoing personality, his bargaining abilities and doing things "his way."
