Marie was born on January 28, 1912 in Lincoln, IL the daughter of Henry and Mary Ruth (Smith) Schmidt. She married Raymond Carl Kurtz in Joliet, IL, he preceded her in death on October 3, 1982.
Marie is survived by her sons, Thomas Kurtz; and Robert E. Kurtz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, William H. Kurtz; one brother, William Schmidt; and one sister, Naomi Hauffe.
Marie was a long time member of The Women of The Moose; and was also the past Senior Regent and Recorder. Additionally Marie was member of The College of Senior Regents.
A graveside service for Marie will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln prior to the graveside service. Memorial donations may be made in Marie's name to Moose Charities.
