Calvin Ray Abbott, age 71, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was a native of Indiana but had lived in Rutherford County most of his life. He was a member of the Heartland Baptist Church.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Moses Abbott and Alice Velna Abbott. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Abbott of Rockvale; son, David Abbot of Des Moines, IA; daughter, Annette Rae Abbott of Fremont, CA; six grandchildren, Kayla, Taylor, Logan, Brandon, Amanda and Isabella Abbott.
A church service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Heartland Baptist Church with Dusty Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Heartland Baptist Church, 307 E.
