Josephine (Keller) Meier, 87, of Mandan, formerly of Dickinson, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at Miller Ponte, Mandan.

Josephine was born June 8, 1930 in Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Hess) Abfalder. She grew up on a farm near Hirschville, ND, attended school in Gladstone thru the eight grade, and continued working on the family farm.

On October 28, 1947 she married Ralph Keller at St. Phillips in Hirschville. The couple was blessed with ten children who lived on the farm until moving to Dickinson. Josephine later married Elmer Meier on July 2, 1992 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

She was a devoted wife and mother, also worked as a CNA for 25 years at St. Benedict's Health Center. Josephine was a very kind-hearted woman who never complained. She volunteer her time at the Trinity Mardi Gras and as a Senior Companion. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and St. Anthony Club. She enjoyed bingo, embroidery, whist, Old Time and County music, and Branson Missouri tours. Baking stretch strudel, kuchen and picnics were also a joy for her. Jospehine will be remembered for her owl collection and as the Grandma with the "Big Pancakes".

Josephine is survived by her children, Gary (Barb) Keller, Elaine (Ron) Kadrmas, Karen (Ralph) Reyes, Cheryl Keller, Pam Pavlicek, Dale Keller, Brenda (Miles) Bosch, Mark Keller, Brian Keller; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Rosemary (Leo) Kurtz; sister-in-law Rosemary (Bill) Barta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Ralph "Randy" Keller Jr.; granddaughter, Melinda Pavlicek; sister, Kathleen Hecker; brother, William Abfalder.
