Arlie Nathaniel Abbott was born August 27, 1950 in Riverdale, ND, the son of the late Arlie William "Bill" and Lillian Henry Moore. He loved music and enjoyed entertaining, especially preforming with his band South Bound. Arlie had worked many places over the years before retiring. Some of those places were Western State, Dispatch for the McNairy County Sheriff's Department, and Wal-Mart. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Selmer. He had served as choir director and played in the McNairy County Hee Haw Show for many years. Arlie's grandchildren knew him as "Papa" and he loved them. Mr. Abbott departed this life on October 15, 2017 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 67 Years, 1 Month, 18 Days.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Marie Bennett Abbott of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Jessica Burney and husband Bandy of Selmer, TN; a son, Joshua Abbott of Selmer, TN; ten grandchildren, Steven, Zachary, Dakota, Wesley, Amber, Lillian, Mekenzi, and Bella Burney, Damion and Jami Abbott; a sister, Tanya Abbott of NC; two brothers, Jeff Abbott and wife Susan of KY and Mark Abbott of NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by a grandchild, Lydia Burney; a sister, Geneva Haluzak; two brothers, Charles and Joe Abbott.
