T. J. Aaron, 64,
Died Yesterday at
Home In The City

Thomas Jefferson Aaron, highly respected and widely respected citizen of Lexington died at his home on West Fifth Avenue at 7:25 yesterday following an illness of more that a year. He was 64.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at four o'clock at Reeds Methodist church with the Rev. O. C. Loy, pastor of the deceased, and Rev. C. E. Ridge pastor of Reeds church, in charge. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the ceremony.

The steady stream of callers at the home and the many beautiful floral offerings which bank the casket and overflow the room are mute evidence of the fine esteem in which Mr. Aaron was held by his neighbors, friends, and acquaintances. Born in Virginia January 26, 1974, a son of John Henry Aaron and Sally Ann Ashby Aaron, he moved with his parents to Davie county at an early age. He was married to Miss Essie Shoaf on April 8, 1909 and had since made his home in Lexington, where for years he was a valued employe of Dacotah mills. By the steady uprightness of his character, he had won a side number of friends and the respect of the community. He was a stalwart member of the Stat Street M. (?). church as long as health permitted and was also a member of the Junior Order here.

Surviving are widow and seven children as follows: Miss Lila Aaron, Mrs. Clyde Hege, Thomas , Hoyt, Glenna, Alma and Jean, all of this city; a grandchild, (?) Aaron of Lexington; four brother, W. (?). Aaron of Salisbury, L. O. Aaron of Fork Church, and James Aaron of Spray; three sisters, Mrs. John Everhart of High Point, Mrs. Paul Redwine of Lexington, and Mrs. J. P. Lanier of Welcome.

Pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased will be Anderson "Red" Aaron, Lamont Aaron, John and Kenneth Lanier, Irvin, John and Glenn Aaron. Honorary pallbearers are Mock Koontz, W. R. Coggins, John B. Leonard and Anderson Pickler of Salisbury. Flowers will be carried by friends of the family.
