Doris was born on February 12, 1934 in Peoria, the daughter of Allan and Madge (Bell) Bown. She married Donald G. Wilson on June 11, 1952 in Watseka, IL; he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ken (Fern) Wilson of Knoxville and Greg (Julie) Wilson of Sugar Grove; seven daughters, Paula (Steve) Kumpf of Chillicothe, Deborah (Suzanne Hermanson) Wilson of Dunlap, Donna (Jim) Butler of Crawfordville, FL, Janet (Roger) Stedman of DeKalb, Linda (Mike) King of Wyoming, Nancy (Les) Callais of Edelstein, and Brenda (Lou) Matich of Hoffman Estates; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret “Margie” Streitmatter and one grandson, Chad Butler.
Doris was a member of the Princeville Presbyterian Church for many years and part of the Do-Si-Do square dance club for 30 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed ballroom dancing, golfing, traveling, going on cruises, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville. Rev. Chris Baker will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Township Cemetery.
