Bobby Gerald Abell, 63, of Hodgenville, passed away Saturday. Dec. 16, 2017, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

Bobby was a Baptist by faith. He retired from Wal-Mart with 28 years of service. Bobby was a backyard quarterback and a backyard basketball legend with many a game with family and friends. He had a love for his family and kids. He was a father to all who knew him.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert Henderson Abell; and two brothers, Donnie and Larry Abell.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mary LaVerne Abell; two brothers, David Lee (Bonnie) Abell and Mike Abell; three sisters, Pat (Norman) Klinglesmith, Beverly (Donald) O'Bryan and Anita Abell, all of Hodgenville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Bobby Gerald Abell is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, in the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Trent Evans officiating. Burial follows in the Mount Tabor Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 9 a.m. until time of service Wed­nesday at the funeral home.
