Obituary for George Howard Adams
Mr. George Howard Adams, 77, of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
Born January 28, 1940 in Clayton, AL, Mr. Adams was the son of the late John Howard Adams and Ernestine Bowden Adams-Parmer. He was a 1958 graduate of Clayton High School. He had made his home in Leesburg, for the last 46 years and worked in the auto parts business until his retirement beginning with Keenan Auto Parts in Albany. Mr. Adams loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed camping and many outdoor activities and was of the Christian faith.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor Loraine Adams, of Leesburg, and a brother Horace J. Parmer, Jr. of Clayton, AL.
Mr. Adams is survived by his two daughters, Marion Adams Janzen, and Marsha Adams Herndon both of Leesburg,; two sisters, Paula Hoover and Pauline Strong of Longview, TX, and brother Jim Adams of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Dave Bandy and Liz Bandy Holley of Leesburg, Michaela Colvin of Royal Oaks, MI, Megan Malko of Pensacola, FL and US Navy CTTSA Alex Malkoof Leesburg; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the Leesburg Cemetery,Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Wednesdayevening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA. 31763.
