Frances Redmond HAWLEY, of Oxford died quietly and peacefully November 15 at the age of 86. She was born in Cincinnati, and after marrying Bill Hawley resided in Oxford leading an active church and civic life. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and a son, Michael Hawley. She is survived by sons Bill (Susan) of Beaufort, NC, Ramsey (Dee) Fayetteville, NC, Steven (Pat) of Oxford and daughter-in-law Peggy Tuttle of Essex CT. She was a supportive and loving grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of one. Also surviving are sisters Kay Kock, Barbara Degarmo and brother Lee.

She enjoyed traveling and maintained lifelong correspondence with the many friends she and Bill made throughout the years. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 21 at 10:00 am in the Oxford Presbyterian Church, followed by burial at the Oxford Cemetery and a reception at the Knolls of Oxford. The Smith & Ogle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Oxford Cemetery Association.
