She was fifty-six years of age, and for the last thirty-eight years had been a faithful member of the Methodist church.
Mrs. Mooneyham was formerly Miss Carrie Adams. She was born at Perry, Houston County, Georgia, October 23, 1858, and was married to Mr. H. S. Mooneyham December 16, 1874. One of the older residents of Georgia she leaves a wide circle of sincere friends throughout the state and in the community where most of her life was spent, she was held in veneration and love.
Mrs. Mooneyham is survived by a devoted husband, five sons, H. E. Mooneyham, of Siloam, Georgia, H. F. Mooneyham, of Shanghai, China, G. B Mooneyham, of LaBlanc, Louisiana, P. B Mooneyham, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and four daughters, Mrs. Fletcher Smith, Misses Julia, Velma and Tommye Mooneyham, of Godfrey. Several brothers, sisters, and grandchildren survive her.
A large crowd of relatives and intimate friends attended the funeral from the Methodist church Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. A beautiful, touching and appropriate sermon was preached by her pastor, Rev. A. Ernest, of Social Circle.
The choir san sweetly two favorite hymns of the deceased: "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus," and "Asleep in Jesus." There was an abundance of beautiful flowers from friends in her home town, in the country and from Madison and Eatonton. A fervent and touching prayer was offered by Rev. J. Ellis Sammons. Interment was in the family cemetery at Hearnville, in Putnam county. To the bereaved family we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
