Reverend Ellen Viola Pueblo, 67, passed away on September 18, 2017 in Anchorage, Alaska from multiple myeloma. A memorial service will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at the House of Mercy Church, 393 S. Pa-Ha Lane, Bishop, California. The family will host a memorial service at a later date in Naknek, Alaska.
Ellen was born August 5, 1950 in Kanakanak, Alaska to Alvin and Freda Aspelund. Ellen loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere she went. She enjoyed picking berries and fishing in her hometown of Naknek. She loved spending time with loved ones and friends. Ellen's love for her family showed in every aspect of her life. She was very devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ and the light and love of her faith touched everyone she met. She was a blessing to all. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son, James Willie and granddaughter, Makena of Maple Valley, WA; daughter, Melinda and her husband, Bryan McCartney and grandsons, Bryan and Alvin McCartney of Bishop, CA; father, Alvin Aspelund Sr. of Naknek, AK; sister, Lorri Cockrell of Effort, PA; brother, Alvin Aspelund Jr. of Ketchikan, AK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Kim Aspelund of Palmer, AK, Shawn and Tami Aspelund of Anchorage, AK, North Sr. and Jennifer Aspelund of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Gail Aspelund of Naknek, AK; step-children, Leonard Pueblo and wife Donna, Sheri Bell and husband, Chris and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard C. Pueblo; mother, Freda Aspelund; brother, David Aspelund and niece, Samantha Cockrell.
