Obituary:
The sudden and unexpected death of Andrew Abbott occurred Sunday morning. Mr. Abbott went to the barn, and after considerable time, his wife fearing something wrong, went to look for him, and found that an old trouble, heart disease, had caused his death. The funeral will be held today (Tuesday) at St. Paul's church, under the auspices of the W. A. Morse Post, G.A.R. of which he was a member. He was a member of the Presbyterian church during the latter years of his life, but formerly was connected with the Seven Day Advent denomination. The Rev. L. A. Hubbard of Edgewood or the Rev. W. H. Ensign of this city will conduct the service.
Mr. Abbott was born in an eastern state July 8, 1844, and lived in Michigan and Indiana for many years. He was married December 8, 1864 to Fannie Hempstead, who died nearly fifteen years ago. He was again united in marriage with Addie E. Coon, who survives him. He enlisted as a private in the Civil war, and has always been known as a man of strong moral character and was gifted with a most happy disposition. His death is mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
