Annie D. Abram was born June 30, 1914 in Pearlington, MS. She was the second of five children of the late Mary and Joseph Powell, I.

Annie received her formal education in Pearlington and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She married the late Dewey Abram and moved to Picayune, MS, where she became well known for her artistry of sewing.

After the death of her husband, Annie moved back to Pearlington and became a member of the Catholic faith and joined St. Joseph Catholic Church. She remained a member there until she moved to Gulfport, MS.

Mrs. Abram was a resident of Long Beach, MS. She passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006 in Gulfport at the age of 91.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers, James Powell and Joseph Powell, II, one sister, Emma Powell Malone, and one nephew, Joseph Powell, III.

She is survived by her sister, caring niece, nieces, nephews, a devoted godchild, and a host of other great-nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be graveside 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Pearlington Cemetery in Pearlington, MS.
