Nancy Ellen Abbey was born on November 2, 1945 in West Plains, Missouri; the sixth child to Albert "Pal" Carl Abbey and Ida Juanita (Becker) Abbey. She passed away April 16, 2018 at Mountain View Healthcare Center in Mountain View, MO; at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 14 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Albert Pal and Mrs. Ida Abbey, her four brothers, infant brother Roy Gene (Trigger) Abbey, George Arthur, (Jam Up), Donald Carl, and Bobby Dean; one nephew Christopher Carl Abbey; one niece Terrie Diane (Bass) Miller, and many cousins from Wolf Creek.

Left to mourn the passing of Nancy is her loving daughter Julie Ann and husband Bryan Zitter of Mountain View, MO, her pride and joy, her grandson Andrew Carl Abbey of Mountain View, MO; her sister Betty Jean and husband Thomas (Red) Bass of Topeka, KS; one brother Charles Ray (Joe) and wife Patricia (Conway) Abbey, who was like a second sister to Nancy; One sister- in-law Carletta (Tune) Abbey; many cherished nieces, nephews and their families; the extended Zitter family, whom she treated as her own; the Abbey cousins, and a host of friends.

At an early age, Nancy came to know the Lord and was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Mountain View. From the young age of fifteen, Nancy was known as one of the Best Cooks in Town and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for the community of Mountain View, at many area restaurants, until her grandson Andrew came in 1993. She opened her own daycare and ran it for more than 13 years, loving each and every child who came through her door until she became ill in 2005 and was no longer able to provide care in her home. Nancy enjoyed gardening and yard work, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she breathe easily and peacefully once again!
