Donald Wayne Abbott, 79, husband of Kay Abbott, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home. He was born May 12, 1938 in Georgetown, Kentucky to the late Luther Glenn and Geneva Mae Brockman Abbott. He was a member of Georgetown First United Methodist Church. Don graduated from Garth High School, was a member of N.R.A., and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was a volunteer of the American Cancer Society, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Don was an avid hunter and an antique enthusiast. He retired from IBM after 34 years.
Along with his wife of 56 years, he is survived by daughters, Cassie (Michael) Wiliams of Melbourne, FL, Dona (Bill) Kelley of Georgetown, KY, and Chrystal (Matt) Foster of Lexington, KY, grandchildren, Ashley and Sean Williams, Mason, Morgan, and Olivia Kelley, and Hunter Foster. Don is also survived by a number of cousins, including a close cousin, Bill Abbott of Zwingle, Iowa.
Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Kentucky.
