Cora May Barker was born in Center Valley, Ind., May 18, 1869, and grew to young womanhood at that place.
In 1900 she came to Macksburg, Iowa and in 1901 was married to C. P. Abbott of that place. To this union was born three sons, one dying in infancy.
In 1918 they moved to Dawson, North Dakota, and made their home at that place until the death of Mr. Abbott, January 20, 1927.
After his death, she with the help of the boys worked the home farm.
She was taken ill in October, 1930, and after a winter of suffering, she passed peacefully away at the Bismark hospital on April 26, 1931, at the age of 61 years, 11 months and eight days.
She leaves two sons, Paul J., and John Abbott, one grandchild, one brother and three sisters. The brother, E. F. Barker, resides at Baltimore, Maryland; her sisters, Mrs. C. W. Lutzman, Wallulla, Wash.; Mrs. Alice Johnson, Clayton, Ind.; Mrs. Martha Pfaff, Plainfield, Ind.; also a number of other relatives and many friends.
