Roberta Lynn “Bobbi” (Gilham) Adams, age 67, died at the Billings Clinic and Health Center in Billings, MT on Sunday, June 17, 2018.

Bobbi was born October 7, 1950 in Browning, MT to Jewel Audrey (Salois) and Daniel Lloyd Gilham, Sr. She attended Browning Public Schools, graduating from Browning High School in 1968. Furthering her education, she attended Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, KS and eventually earned an Associate’s Degree in office administration from the Billings College of Business. After receiving her degree, she began her long and successful career with the Indian Health Service, retiring in 2001 after 28 years.

On December 19, 1970, she joined her soul mate Maurice Gail Adams in marriage to which they celebrated 47 years together. To this beautiful union three children were born.

She lived most of her adult life in the Harlem area, ranching with her husband near Dodson in the early days of their marriage and then moving to the Fort Belknap Agency where she worked for the Indian Health Service. For a period of time, upon her father’s passing, she spent two years in Browning caring for her dear mother.

Bobbi loved her family. Family always came first. She loved family game nights, family gatherings, spending time at the lake, spoiling her grandchildren and attending her children and grandchildren’s school and sporting activities. Bobbi loved making gift baskets, tie blankets, and preparing her famous dishes for family gatherings. She dearly loved spending time at Gilham Cabin on St. Mary’s Lake and at the Keller Ranch at Meriwether. Bobbi also enjoyed going on road trips with yard sale and casino stops. She will be especially remembered for pulling the “troops” together at family gatherings and throwing out orders to all in attendance. She was fondly referred to as “Sarge”.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, a daughter, her four sisters, her three brothers, and two adopted daughters. She is also survived by her in-laws to whom she was very close She had 6 grandsons and a granddaughter.

Bobbi is preceded in death by her parents Dan & Jewel; oldest sibling Elaine Clayborn, younger sister Colleen Faye Gilham and younger brother Daniel “Danny” Gilham, Jr..
