Pat was born on January 18, 1949 in Muscatine, Iowa to Henry (Hank) Rhea and Lillian Marie (Green) Hallowell. She graduated from La Harpe High School in 1967. She graduated from the College of the Ozarks with two degrees in teaching. In 1974, she joined the Army and was assigned to Fort Dix where she served as a Recreational Specialist. She was next transferred to Tripler Army Hospital in Hawaii. She was discharged as an Specialist 5. Due to injuries sustained while on active duty, she was a disabled veteran.
She received her master's degree while in Hawaii in 1982. She moved to Fruitland Park, Florida on in 2001 where she cared for her mother until her death in 2007. She was a member of the American Legion Post 219 in Fruitland Park. On November 9, 2004 (Veteran's Day), she married Donald Martin Aaberg. They moved from Florida to Adamsville, Tennessee in 2010.
Pat had a passion for painting. She painted many pictures for family and friends, specializing in pastels. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile, magnetic personality and her kind and compassionate spirit.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, Hank, her mother, Marie and her brother, Donald W. Hallowell and her stepson William Aaberg.
