He was born January 3, 1947, to the late Frank and Ivory Irene (Back) Caudill.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday, July 30 at 10:30 am with Rev. Van Breeding officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday from 2-8 pm and on Monday from 9 am until time of service.
He was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
On June 17, 1974, he married Cookie Baker; she survives.
He was owner-operator of Caudill Excavating. He retired from Rose Acre after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, singing and songwriting, and spending time with his dog, Ollie. He was a gentle man of faith. He considered his greatest accomplishment in life to be a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cookie Caudill; children, Kimberly Steinkamp, Billy F. Caudill Jr., Stacey (Chris) Baker and Monica (Kyle) Stuckwisch; grandchildren, Christopher Sage, Billy M. Caudill, Brittany Doss, Bryan Caudill, Brandon Stidam, Jessica Pierce, Danielle Baker, Aleisha Cain, Nathan Baker, Blake Covey, Kayla Stuckwisch and Allison Stuckwisch; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dan (Sandy) Caudill and Mike (Gail) Caudill; and sister, Judy (Rev. Van) Breeding.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Bryan Sage; and sister, Linda Abbott.
