Albert came to Hutchinson County, South Dakota with his parents to the homesteaded farm 2 miles west and 1 mile north of Milltown at age 13. He married Anna "Annie" Klotz on Jan. 4, 1887 at Milltown, Hutchinson County, SD. She was the daughter of John Klotz and Anna Nevotne Klotz, born in Bohemia, Austria. After their marriage, they farmed east of Dimock, SD. He passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mitchell. The funeral was on June 10, 1953 at the Ethan Methodist Church with burial at the Ethan Cemetery, Davison County, SD.
Albert was predeceased by his wife and daughter, Fannie. Then his daughter, Edna and husband, Walter Hanneman, and their family lived with him. He was survived by his brother, Andrew J. "Bubby" Stainbrook, who lived on the original homestead near Milltown, a sister, Emma Michaelsen of Collbran, CO and a daughter, Edna Hannemann (Walter), a son, Delbert and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Ethan. Burial was in the Ethan Cemetery. Pallbearers were five grandsons: Everett Stainbrook, Gilbert Stainbrook, Gerald Stainbrook, Kenneth Stainbrook, Rev. Norman Hannemann and a nephew, Lester Michaelson. Relatives and friends from a distance attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Art Jensen of Mpls., Minn; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Olds of Vermillion; Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Glendy and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller of Crawford, Nebr.; Ida Hannemann of Aberdeen, SD and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Stainbrook of Sioux Falls, SD.
