Jessie Lee Acheson, 67, of Dry Creek passed away Aug. 11, 2008 in Lake Charles. Ms. Acheson was a resident of Westlake for many years. She was a member of the Westlake Baptist Church. She had made Dry Creek her home since 1984. Jessie was a homemaker all of her life and had many hobbies. Just a few of the things she enjoyed were fishing, cooking, gardening and playing cards with family and grandkids.

Ms. Acheson is survived by one son, Leland Sallier of Dry Creek; three daughters, Amelia McDonald and husband Bill of DeQuincy, Bobbie Ann Hargrove and husband Mark of Arkansas, and Kim Baumery and husband Murphy of Dry Creek; one sister, Anna Mae Romero and husband Shorty of Lake Charles; Bobby Sallier of Westlake; and 12 grandchildren.

Ms. Acheson was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Miller; mother, Amelia Dubois Tunks; stepfather, Leland Tunks; son, Lawrence "Larry" Sallier; and sister, Ellen Marie Pate.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday Aug. 14, at Dry Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Benjie Loyd officiating. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today, Aug. 13, at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will resume from 8 a.m. Thursday at the church.
