Larry Abbott of Easley, S.C. passed away on Oct. 22, 2018 in Anderson, S.C. He was born on April 2, 1935. He was son of the late Trular Mae Turner and Broadus Royal Abbott, along with his late brother Broadus (Bucky) Abbott.

Larry graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 1953, home of the Devildogs. That same year, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1957. He attended Furman University and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Larry Abbott was a talented athlete and played baseball for Furman all four years and was an All-Time Lettermen. During that time, he was selected to play in the Southern Conference twice. He had a life-long passion for baseball and especially loved the Atlanta Braves.

He also attended Georgia State University, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Business in Risk Management & Insurance. He was a proud member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Easley YMCA. He considered both family. He especially enjoyed spending time at the YMCA working crossword puzzles, drinking coffee, and appreciated the good fellowship there.
