Donna was born on January 14, 1933 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Ira and Bessie Douglas. Most people knew her as a dedicated volunteer at the Houston Medical Center where she devoted her time and energy. Regardless, of whether she was serving in the gift shop or answering the phone at reception, she was known for her dedicated hard work. She was always greeting both members and visitors alike at the front doors of the First Church of the Nazarene, the church she loved and adored. It was her faith in Jesus Christ that propelled her to serve so diligently. Most of her friends and family knew her to be feisty and full of life. Her greatest joy, however, was her family whom she dearly loved, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband of 33 years, Homer C. Abbott, who passed away in 1987 and her 2nd husband of 20 years Bernard Compher who passed away in 2018.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund at 300 Lois Dr. Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
