He was born to Charles E and Lillian Agaard and grew up and attended Rapid City Schools .
At the age of eighteen Charles earned a transport pilot's licensee which allowed him to carry passengers. In the early days of aviation he flew airmail in South Dakota. Later he was a pilot for Western Airlines for thirty-one years, he retired in 1946.
Charles married Marjorie English of New Underwood in 1938, they moved to Cheyenne WY in 1939 and to Aurora in 1946.
Charles was survived by his wife, Marjorie of Aurora, three sisters, Helen Geary in Rapid City, Charlene Strong in Union Center SD and Marian Koehmstedt in Langdon North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by a sister Clara Gunderson.
