TRENTON - Bertha Johnson Adams, 92, of Trenton, NC died October 31, 2018 at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern. She was married for 72 years to William C. Adams, Sr., until his passing in 2017. Mrs. Adams was a high school teacher in Jones County for many years, and a longtime member of Trenton United Methodist Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed her hobbies of traveling, reading and quilting. She is survived by her four children, William C. Adams, Jr. and wife Eileen, of West Melbourne, FL, Robert M. Adams and wife Angela, of Cove City, NC, James M. Adams and wife Kim, of Youngsville, NC, and Elizabeth Adams Rowe and husband Alex, of Camden, NC; sisters Caroline J. Pickett of Marshallville, Ohio, and Eleanor J. Cuthrell and husband Frank, of Danville, VA; sister-in-law Kathleen Eveland of Rocky Mount, NC; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
