Benjamin Clay Fairhurst, 91, of Terre Haute passed away Monday morning, December 31, 2018 after a life well lived. He was born March 20, 1927 in Terre Haute to Homer “Ben” Fairhurst and Gertrude Woodsmall Fairhurst.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Alice Rose Butler Fairhurst; three daughters, Ann Fairhurst (Marc), Susan Hughes (Henry) and Jill Hall (Greg); three grandchildren, Landrum, Lindsey and Benjamin Clay; and three great-grandchildren.

Ben was a graduate of Honey Creek High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana State University. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Navy. Ben spent his career in the financial industry working in banking and investing in Paris, IL Marshall, IL and Terre Haute. His activities in the community included Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge and Indiana State University Foundation.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Private burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley.
