Always active in the community, John served as a parent coordinate for the Providence High School soccer teams, a long-leader for Cub Scout Pack 30, Boy Scout Troop 36, and was also instrumental with the expansion of the Purdue University campus in New Albany. John was selfless in every sense of the word, and above all, was a loving husband, father and grandpa.
He was born on March 11, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky. John was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores (Jacobi) Lozon Abbott; and grandson, Kenneth Lozon.
John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sheila (Klein) Lozon; children, Jonathan Lozon (Heather), Emily Lozon-Forster (Bill), Katherine Lozon-McDermott (Matt); sister, Diana Abbott-Huber; grandchildren, John Forster, Patrick Lozon, Oliver Forster; and parents-in-law, Virgil and Doris Klein.
Visitation will be 2 PM to 8 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill Campus) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
