Lynn G. Fairbanks, 89, of Onaga, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, while vacationing in Branson, Missouri.

He was born April 5, 1914, south of Onaga, the son of Clarence and Violet Grossnickle Fairbanks. He attended Vienna rural schools and had lived on the same farm since he was two years old.

Mr. Fairbanks was a farmer and stockman and had served on the Vienna Township Board.

He married Olga Leona Abitz April 21, 1957 at St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wheaton. She survives at home.

Other survivors include two sons, John of Onaga, and Alan of Shawnee, one daughter, Barbara Depew of Wamego; three sisters, Sadie Marten and Hazel Wyss both of Onaga, and Rheva McKee of Salina.

He was preceded in death by a brother, A. Douglas Fairbanks and two sisters, Lucille Bell and Dorothy Seybold.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Tessendorf-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga with burial in the Onaga Cemetery. Mr. Fairbanks lay in state until service time at the funeral home where a Prayer Service was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the Fairview Community Building in care of the funeral home.
