DAVIS, Roxie D. Age 92 of Dayton, OH passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Soin Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1926 in Overton County, Tennessee to Andrew and Ella (Boles) Abney. Roxie married Sam Davis in Arkansas in 1945. Roxie loved to travel, cook and her family. She worked for The Van Cleve Hotel, Gunther's Linden House and Stockyard Inn as a chef for over 30 years. Roxie was an active member of the TOPS Club of Dayton for 30 years. She loved life and loved to laugh, loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all. Roxie is survived by her daughter, Ann (Eddie) Lucas; daughter in law, Christine Davis; seven grandchildren, Melanie, Misty, Jayson (April), Philip (Jennifer) and Jessica Lucas, Nathan (Jamie) and Joshua Davis; nine great grandchildren, Shane, Travis, Philip Jr. and Cassie Lucas, Kyle, Colin and Samantha Lucas, Sam and Andrew Davis; and other numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 39 years Sam; a son, William Jack Davis; five brothers, Arlie, Ray, Charles, Windle and Gene Abney; three sisters, Lena Glasscock, Jewell Johnson and Ora Walton; two nieces Sue and Anita; and nephews, Doie Abney, Junior Davis and Gary Curtis.
