Nancy Bradsher Gentry, 90, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, June 19 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Mrs. Gentry was born September 3, 1922 in Person County the daughter of Nanny Hester Bradsher and Lewis A. Bradsher. She was a graduate of Person County Schools and Business College in Roxboro. Nancy retired from Selective Service System in 1973 where she worked for 27 years. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, The Circle #2, Harold B. Jarrett Auxiliary, VFW, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and she also served “Pinkie Hot Dogs” for 33 years at Rowan American Legion Baseball games. Nancy loved Atlanta Braves baseball, Duke Basketball, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband Wade B. Gentry on November 23, 1982 whom she married June 20, 1942; daughter Jackie G. Easter who died November 8, 1991.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Frank Gentry (Elizabeth) and Kenneth “Butch” Gentry both of Salisbury; daughter Nancy Laxton (Jerry) of Spencer; grandchildren Kristie Wooten, Trey Easter, Trevor Gentry, Chelsea Gentry, Seth Gentry and Maddie Gentry; 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 10-11:00 AM Saturday, June 22 at Second Presbyterian Church.
Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22 at Second Presbyterian Church.
