David Reinhardt Abell, 75, of Newburgh, IN passed away at 4:23 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Linda E. White Hospice. He was born February 2, 1944, in Evansville, IN to the late Charles G. and Cornelia (Pohl) Abell.

David served in the US Army Reserves from 1963-1969 and retired as an electrician for Sigeco after 46 years of service. He was a charter member of St. John's United Church of Christ where he served on the church council, assisted in building maintenance and new projects, and attended Bible study. He was also a member of IBEW #702 for 44 years and volunteered at the Dream Center. David was a dedicated family man and always put his family first. His favorite times were spent hanging out with his girls and his grandchildren. He enjoyed cars and watching NASCAR.

David is survived by his daughters, Amy Winchester (Jeff), Julie Abell, and Ginger Bushur (Stephen); grandchildren, Logan and Peyton Winchester, Gavin Abell, Mallory, Ken and Nathan Cromer; nephew, Greg Bolton; and great-niece, Courtney Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 40 years, Donna K. Abell; and sisters, Helen Bolton and Alberta Abell.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019, e with Pastor Kris Holzmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019. Published in Courier Press Mar. 15, 2019.
