She was born on a farm near Wilmore, Kansas on December 21, 1919. She lived through the Great Depression and World War II. Throughout her life, she also lived in Colorado, Oklahoma, Wyoming, New Mexico and has spent the last 9 years living in Ozark, Missouri.
Walsie was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Lena Adcock, her first husband, Harlo Hansen, her older brother, Jack Adcock and an older sister, Kathryn Dickenson. She married her second husband, Loran Gearhart on January 1, 1989. He passed away on September 13, 1995. Walsie was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy who passed from melanoma cancer at the age of 62.
Walsie worked for the State of Wyoming for many years. While working there, she was president of the board of directors for the Wyoming Federal Employee’s Credit Union. After her retirement, she was generous with both her time and money to numerous organizations.
Walsie had a quick wit and loved to laugh. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A celebration of Walsie’s life was held on Saturday, April 13, 2:00 pm at the Southside Church of Christ in Ozark, Missouri. She was interred on April 12, 2019.
