Naomia Lee "Nellie" Abney, 72, of Lexington, formerly of Menifee County, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at her residence in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Frenchburg, Kentucky on March 2, 1947 the daughter of the late Gladys Morrison and Cash Cox. She was a file clerk for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, enjoyed participating in Bible Studies and formerly attended the Broadway Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Latonya Michelle Abney of Lexington, KY; cousin, Helen Fultz of Ohio and nieces, Danee', Diane, Fawn and Chloe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, her twin, Normia Cox, Darlene Ingram and Sherry McCleanahan; and her ex husband, Tenon Abney.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel in Frenchburg with burial following in the Mack Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm at the Taul Funeral Home in Frenchburg
