Gordon Peter Aalbers, 68, of Tyler, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at Senior Care Center of Jacksonville. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
The son of Marinus and Magdalene Aalbers, Gordon was born Aug. 11, 1948. He graduated from Prairie City High School and moved to Texas in 1980. He worked as a route/driver manager for Sysco Foods and enjoyed working on cars and house projects.
He is survived by his children, Kristel Weaver, Dustin Aalbers, Lauree Brown and Angela Aalbers; step-sons, Brad Birkenholtz and Ala Birkenholtz; five beautiful grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Aalbers, Mark Aalbers and Mike Aalbers; sisters, Greta Aalbers, Marlene Aalbers, Anne Aalbers and Karen Repp. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kenneth.
