Franklin G. Adams, 87, of Powhatan, Va, passed away on June 2, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born February 23, 1932, in Cumberland, Va., the son of Robert and Lula Adams. He was the youngest of six siblings. He married Lillian Guthrie of Cumberland County who survives him.

He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, during the Korean War, and he retired from Mason Dixon Lines, Inc. after 25 years of service. He was a member and enjoyed the Southside Shriner Mini Patrol. He also enjoyed fishing and collecting Wheel Horse lawnmowers and antique tractors. He took great pleasure in spending time on his land in Buckingham County.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Keith Roberts of Powhatan; son and daughter-in-law, Franklin and Nancy Adams of Midlothian; son Robert Adams of Raleigh, NC.; two grandsons, James Atkinson Jr. (Jamie) and wife Gwen of Manhattan, KS and Franklin Adams Ill (Trae) and wife Rachal, of Washington, D.C.; three great-grandchildren, Jack, Coleman, and Eva Atkinson; and many nieces and nephews; and many loyal long time friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m. in Buckingham County, Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2160 Ca Ira Road, Cumberland, VA 23040.
