James E. Harden
Ellaville –Funeral services for James E Harden, 87, of Bradenton, Fla. Formerly of Ellaville, who died Saturday night, Dec. 6, in a Bradenton hospital, were held Tuesday Dec., 9 at 3pm at the Ellaville Methodist Church. Officiating was the Rev. Marion M Edwards, pastor, burial was in the Ellaville Cemetery.
Servings as pallbearers were BE Pelham, Harold Dillard, Donald Franklin, Roney Jordan, John P Moore, and Ed King.
Mr. Harden was a native of Newton County, Ala., but had lived in Ellaville for many years where he served as city policeman before he retired. He was also in the well drilling for many years and also a former newspaper distributor. He was a member of the Ellaville Methodist Church. Following the death of Mrs. Harden he lived in Ellaville until he moved to Bradenton, Fla.Three years ago to be near his daughter, Mrs. George Tomberlin.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Harden, Atlanta; one daughter, Mrs. George Tomberlin, Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. James Abercrombie, Troy Ala.; two brothers, Deleon Harden, Dothan, Ala., Andrew Harden, Newton Ala.; two grandchildren.
Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville was in charge of arrangements.
