Bruce was born June 9, 1955 in Lexington, the son of Doris M. Abbas Parkes. Bruce worked at Henkel Corporation for 17 years. He also worked at Whittaker Cable, S & K Industries and Orbseal. He lived most of his life in Richmond and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include: his parents, Howard and Doris Parkes of Richmond; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen L. Parkes and wife, Lucy M., of Higginsville, and Stephen H. Parkes and wife, Mary, of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bruce A. Abbas Memorial Fund.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
