Merrill E. Reisenweber, 92, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2018.
Memorial Services will be held, 11:00am, Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD, followed by Full Military Honors. Private burial will happen at a later date.
Merrill Eugene Reisenweber was the son of William Fredrick Reisenweber and Rosina (Muth) Reisenweber, born on January 7, 1926, in Britton, SD.
Merrill graduated from Newark High School in 1944. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945 where he served as a radio operator stationed in North Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to South Dakota where he earned his Bachelor's Degree from Huron College. While attending college, Merrill married the woman of his life, June Carol Dyer. June and Merrill celebrated their 68 years of marriage on June 4, 2018.
Merrill enjoyed a long, successful career with the Federal Land Bank Association. In those 35 years, he lived in Council Bluffs, IA, Aberdeen, SD, and finally, in Sioux Falls, SD.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved to hunt, fish, and entertain with his wife, especially eating her good food. He also enjoyed stained glass art work. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls
Merrill is survived by his wife, June; 4 children, Jeanne Reisenweber Lyke, Sioux Falls, SD, Bonnie Buist, Denver, CO, Steve Reisenweber, Brandon, SD, and Scott Reisenweber, Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
Merrill was preceded in death by a son, Robert Royce Reisenweber.
