Hawthorne Virginia Balderson Agner passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in Murfreesboro, Tenn. She was born April 27, 1914, in Virginia's Northern Neck to Ruby Hart and Noel Balderson. Until 1976, she worked in administration for the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines. She was a founding member of Memorial Baptist Church in Arlington. During the last 10 years of her life, Hawthorne joined her family in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and resided at Adams Place in assisted living and then in the health unit. Her daughter, Bonnie Agner Tinsley; her son-in-law, Clifford Eugene Richeson; and her granddaughter, Pema Jane Richeson, survive her. A memorial service will be held at the church of Hawthorne's childhood, Rappahannock Baptist Church in Newland, on Saturday, June 17, at 11 a.m. Memorials in memory of Hawthorne V. Agner may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation for disease research, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, N.Y. 10018. Woodbine Funeral Home, 615/832-1948.
