Charles Edward Abbott Jr., 25, Leadwood, died Saturday at a hospital in Potosi as a result of injuries suffered in a mining accident at Leadwood. He formerly lived at 810 Mulberry St.

He was born Oct. 27, 1948, in Jefferson City, the son of Charles E. and Frances V. Moad Abbott. Mr. Abbott survives at the home in Tebbetts. He was married Dec. 24, 1973, at Irondale, to Gloria Dunlap Abbott, who also survives.

Mr. Abbott had been employed with the St. Joseph Lead Co. at the time of his death.

Other survivors include: Two sons, Jeffery Lane Abbott and Joey Abbott, both of the home; one daughter, Lori Abbott, also of the home; three brothers, Ronald Lee Abbott, Terry Jerome Abbott, and William Roger Abbott, all of Jefferson City; and four sisters, Mrs. Frances Jeanette Rodriquez, San Antonio, Tex., Mrs. Mary Delores Lozano, Atoka, Tenn., Mrs. Betty Lou Volmert, and Mrs. Doris Anita Abbott, both of Jefferson City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Freeman Chapel, with the Rev. H. Jim Moad officiating. Burial will be at Longview Cemetery.
