Linda Faye Abbott Light, 70, of Staley passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Alpine Health and Rehab.
She loved her church and her children and was most passionate about her grandchildren. Linda was a hard worker and was a cheerful giver. She was a strong woman full of kindness, compassion and humility towards others. She will be remembered for her quick-wit and sense of humor.
She was the daughter of the late Walton and Lilly Virginia Carter Abbott and was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary and Louise Abbott and brothers, Mike, Isaac, James, Jerry, Elmer and Atwood Abbott
Linda is survived by children, Tracy Blankenship, Barbara Blankenship Elliott and her husband, David, Kimberly Doolin, and Danny Doolin and his wife, Faline; grandchildren, Dean Blankenship, Lynn Blankenship, Michelle Blankenship, Hannah Blankenship, Austin Elliott, Autumn Elliott, Arianne Dixon, Christopher Lehman, Noah Dunningham, Kaylyn Doolin, Ashlyn Doolin, Drake Dixon and Lilly Dixon; brothers, Ronnie, Bobby and Leroy Abbott; close companion and dear friend to the family, Jerry Vickers.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Holly’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Dwayne Lester; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, September 29, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holly’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hope Fund, 8003 Ferguson Road, Ramseur, NC 27316. Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty is honored to serve Linda’s family.
