Alfred Abner (Al) Abercrombie, Jr. passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Sharon Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Elder William Bishop will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Al, the son of the late Alfred A. Abercrombie and Alma Moon Abercrombie was born June 20, 1949, in Forsyth, Georgia. His sisters, Dell Darden and Elaine Abercrombie preceded him in death. He was retired owner and operator of JLA Used Cars & Trucks, Inc. and was a veteran of the United States Army having served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Lakeeta Abercrombie of Forsyth; children, Kimberly Gayle Phillips of Macon, Kellie Blogg (John) of St. Simons, Jeffey Lane Abercrombie of Forsyth and Jessica Lynn Welch (Jeff) of Forsyth; sister, Mary Ann Jarrell (Wayne); grandchildren, Leif Phillips, Coral Morgan Phillips, Carley Blogg, Kingston Blogg, Alyssa Kate Powell and Skylar Jamie Abercrombie; brother-in-law, Dean Darden (Kathy) of Culloden; and his beloved companions, “Pretty Girl” and “Anna-Belle”.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, Ga 31201 or to Sharon Primitive Baptist Church, 5827 Hwy 83 South, Culloden, GA 31016.
