Darlene Eisbrener, 84 of Trail, MN passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls.

Darlene Marlys (Hruby) Eisbrener was born February 15, 1935 in Erie, MN, the daughter of Rose Emma Hruby. She was baptized into the Lutheran Church at Erie. Darlene rode the bus to Goodridge, MN, where she attended school. Her uncle, John Tanem was the bus driver for a number of years.

She took instructions in the Catholic Faith from Father Tim Noah and on June 9, 1951, she was united in marriage to John Eisbrener at St. Bernard’s Church, Thief River Falls, MN. John and Darlene made their home with John’s parents for the first month, at which time they moved to Bemidji, MN, so John could finish his Bachelor’s Degree. They moved again at the end of November to Thief River Falls as John was offered a job as sixth grade teacher.

She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church, taught catechism classes and was a member of the Guild and Catholic Daughters. Also held membership with Mrs. Jay Cees and the American Legion Auxiliary. Darlene was an excellent home maker. She enjoyed baking, dancing and her family. She would always tend to others needs before considering her own.

Darlene is survived by her six children and their spouses: Michael (Clara) Eisbrener, Medellin, Columbia, Virginia (Steve) Royse, Mason City, IA, JoAnn Foust, Nebraska City, NE, Mary Jo Derusha, South St. Paul, MN, Fred (Terri) Eisbrener, Trail, MN and Jeff (Lori) Eisbrener, Newton, IA; grandchildren: John (Alicia) Eisbrener, Madison, WI, Camilo Giraldo, Medellin, Columbia, Brian (Jessica) Royse, Mason City, IA, Dean (Melody) Royse, Minneapolis, MN, Ben Foust, Nebraska City, NE, Jonathan (Sarah) Hruby, North Las Vegas, NV, Darla Hruby, Albuquerque, NM, Colton Noble, Laramie, WY, Emily (George) Weatherall, San Antonio, TX, Ellen (Sean) Derusha, South St. Paul, MN, Elaine (Jared) Erickson, Eagan, MN, Evan (Maria) Peters, Woodbury, MN, Matt (Jenny) Eisbrener, Morresville, NC, Michael (Pam) Eisbrener, St. Petersburg, FL, Katherine (Rob) Evans, Clive, IA, Ryan Constant, Newton, IA and Dillon Constant, Newton, IA; great grandchildren: Melanie Eisbrener, Nathan Eisbrener, Zackary Royse, Bryson Royse, Lincoln Royse, Walter Royse, Xavier Foust, Isabel Foust, Ashland Hruby, Kendall Hruby, Brianna Chevez, McKenzie & Carly Erickson, Olivia & Quinn Weatherall, Nora Evans, Elle & Cole Peters, Grayson & Gavyn Foust, Henry Eisbrener; great-great grandson, Quentin Foust; sisters, Kathy (Wayne) Bakke and Paulette Aaknes and a brother Glenn (Judy) Aaknes; along with sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Darlene is preceded in death by her husband John on November 5, 2019; and parents, Rose and Albert Aaknes.
